SPIRIT DAYS

Friday,  June 1st  - Tie Dye Day

SUMMER HOURS

The School office will be open in the “Owls Nest” (new building). You can access the office by entering the main doors at  the front of McLane and walking through the lobby and through the playshed to the Owls Nest.  Our hours will be June 21st - June 29th 9:00am to 3:00pm.  We will then reopen the office on August 20th from 9:00am to 3:00pm until the first day of school September 5th.

FIFTH GRADE “MOVING UP” CEREMONY

Parents and family members are welcome to join their students for the “Moving Up” ceremony in the McLane gym at 10:30am on June 20th.

 

CLASS OF 2025 (6th Grade 2018)

Friday, June 8th at 9:45 - 11:00 - Fifth grade Move-up Day - 5th grade students from Hansen, McLane and Lincoln visit MMS (This is a ½ day of school for elementary and middle schools in Olympia)

 

ATTENDING MCLANE 2018-2019

If you are planning on moving over the summer and will not be attending McLane in 2018-2019 please let the office know before the end of this school year.  McLane Office 360-596-6600.

 

NEW FAMILY REGISTRATION

2018-19 School Year Registration for 1st – 5th grades for the 2018-19 school year has begun.  Please bring your child’s Immunization Record,  Proof of Residency (current utility bill) and Birth Certificate.  If you have neighbors with school age children, please let them know we are in the process of registering new students.

 

KEEP YOUR FAMILY'S CONTACT INFORMATION UP TO DATE

Keeping your contact information up to date is vital in an emergency. It is also vital on a daily basis, if your child has been injured at school or is sick, the office needs to have accurate contact information. It is also necessary for teachers to have up to date contact information to keep you informed regarding your child’s progress. Please send a note in with your child if you have a change to your phone number(s), address, or email information. Please date and sign the note so that the office has permission to update your information.

 

“A TASTE OF KINDERGARTEN”

Upon returning the completed packets, we will sign up parents and student for our “A Taste of Kindergarten” event on Friday, June 8th.

Packets are available in the front office. Students must be five years old before September 1st in order to register. A birth certificate, proof of residency, and proof of immunizations are required to register. Please tell your neighbors and friends to come in!

MUSIC PERFORMANCES

These events will be in the McLane gym and you are invited to attend:

      The Kindergarten, 1st & 2nd Grade Chorus​ will perform Monday, June 4th at 1:30pm

      The  Orchestra classes will present a "Cookie Concert" on the Wednesday, June 6th at 7pm

      The 3rd, 4th & 5th Grade Chorus​ will perform Monday, June 11th at 1:30pm

      The Band & Orchestra will perform on Wednesday, June 13th at 1:45pm

 

LOST AND FOUND

Our racks are full; please check our lost and found for any missing items.  We will be donating the left over items to The Little Red School House on Thursday, June 21st.

 

MEDICINE AT SCHOOL

If your student has medicine at school, please remember that it needs to be picked up by an adult by Wednesday, June 20th @ 3:30pm unless other arrangements have been made.

 

 

TEACHER ASSIGNMENTS FOR 2018-2019 SCHOOL YEAR

Teacher Assignment will be Posted on Family Access for the 2018-19 School Year! Remember to sign up for Family Access so you are able to view your child’s teacher assignment for the 2018-19 school year. Family Access will be available to view your teacher assignment on Wednesday, August 29th after 9:00 am.  If you are having troubles with Family Access please contact the Olympia School District at (360) 596-6150. Also, did you know you can view your child’s food service balance, test scores, report cards and attendance with Family Access?

2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR VOLUNTEERS

All applications processed after 1pm, May 17th, 2018 will have a expiration date of July 1st 2019.  All applicants currently on file expire on July 1, 2018.  Volunteers will need to renew their applications for the summer 2018-2019 and upcoming school year.

 

You must register every year on-line at the OSD website,

     be in the classroom or library

Library News

All Library books are due June 1st.  Classes that have all their books in and their accounts taken care of will get a popcorn party from Mrs. Moore. 

 

Timberland Regional Library has the annual Summer Reading Program.  Students can sign up at the library the day after school gets out.

 

Likewise, Barnes & Noble is having a Summer Reading Program.  Students read 10 of their favorite books and take in the reading log for prizes of free books.
