Hello McLane Families,
I hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the start of a wonderful school year. I want you all to know that we are committed to fully opening for in-person learning five days a week at McLane Elementary. In addition, Covid is still a threat in our community and we will work diligently to ensure the safety of our students. Individuals may have questions about the upcoming school year and I would encourage you to look at the Frequently Asked Questions page that our school district has provided.
One big change for the upcoming year at McLane will be our school Start and End Times. School will take place from 8:00 AM until 2:15 PM. Students can be dropped off as early as 7:50 AM.
If you have not done so already, I would encourage you to be sure to grab school supplies for the upcoming school year. School supplies for each grade level can be found here. If you need any support getting school supplies, please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly. You can call me at 360-596-6605 or email me at [email protected].
I hope our McLane Owls enjoy the last few weeks of summer and hope you all know that you have the most amazing educators excited to welcome our students back on September 8th.
Take Care,
Principal Brock

We will have two times: one from 10:00-10:30 AM and another from 3:00-3:30 PM. This is a time where our Kindergarten students can gather and start meeting new friends; this is also an opportunity for families to connect as well. Our Kindergarten Teachers and our school Principal will also be there. Hope all of our Kindergarten families will be able to join us. A friendly note: masks are required for individuals who are on McLane’s campus.

Families are invited to come by McLane and drop off their students' school supplies in their classroom. It is great for students to see their classrooms prior to the first day of school. Please know that our teachers will not be able to spend more than one or two minutes with each family. If you have anything specific you would like to share with your student’s teacher I would encourage you to to email them or set up a time to connect. Sweet Lee’s Ice Cream truck will also be on campus. All McLane students will be provided a coupon for a free Ice Cream; families are welcome to buy ice cream as well.

TEACHER ASSIGNMENTS FOR 2020-2021 SCHOOL YEAR
Teacher assignments will be posted on Family Access for the 2021-2022 School Year at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 3rd. Please know that class placements take a significant amount of time as our teachers work hard to ensure we have balanced classrooms and are able to meet the needs of all of our remarkable students. While we do not take requests for specific teachers, it is important to note that our teachers collaborate daily and your student will be provided with a remarkable year at McLane. Remember to sign up for Family Access so you are able to view your child’s teacher assignment for the 2021-2022 school year. If you are having trouble with Family Access, please contact the Olympia School District at (360) 596-6150. Also, did you know that you can view your child’s food service balance, test scores, report cards and attendance with Family Access?
